Welcome to Speedometer.

Speedometer is an application designed to measure speed and calculate real‑time resistances (rolling resistance, air resistance, starting resistance, slope resistance) and related power values.

This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application (“App”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data. By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Speedometer collects only the data necessary for its core functionality:

a. Location Data

Permissions used:

  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Purpose:

  • To measure speed, distance, movement dynamics, and compute resistances based on GPS data.
  • Location data is processed locally on your device and is not stored nor transmitted by the app.

b. Network Access

Permissions used:

  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  • INTERNET

Purpose:

  • To check network availability.
  • To load resources if needed (e.g., fonts, libraries).
  • The app does not send personal data over the internet.

c. Camera (Optional)

Permissions used:

  • CAMERA

Purpose:

  • The application includes optional camera functionality that may be used for car updates.
  • Images are locally stored when explicitly required by a user action.

2. File Management

The app uses an Android FileProvider to safely manage local files (e.g., cached images). No files are transmitted externally.

3. Third‑Party Libraries

The following libraries are used strictly for functionality:

  • MPAndroidChart (charts)
  • Picasso (image caching)
  • Calligraphy / ViewPump (fonts)
  • Gson (local JSON parsing)
  • AndroidX libraries

These libraries do not collect personal information.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • The app does not store personal information on external servers.
  • All computations and data remain on your device.
  • Only temporary cached files may be created, which are automatically managed by the operating system.

5. Children's Privacy

The app is safe for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the new version of this document.
